The “Agricola Gian Piero Marrone” is a company where four generations of vineyards lovers meet: Marrone Pietro, then is son Carlo, his grandson Gian Piero and now his great nieces Denise, Serena and Valentina. This mixed group has reached and is still reaching the goal of making wines more and more genuine, good and capable of express the passion they are made of.
The Company is located in La Morra, a fraction of the village of Annunziata, among a wonderful landscape of grapevine cultivated hills and centenarian castles full of history that you may watch closely from the observation platform, tasting a good wine.In these years the Company acquired expert collaborators and amateurs, such as Pier Franca Doretti, who is motherly concerned with barrels and barriques from 26 years, Marco Bertone, Serena’s husband, who is concerned with sales and cellar, just like in the farm families, Dario Olivero, agrarian graduated, who deals with the cellar and the vineyards, Francesca Beltrutti, efficient and precise secretary, office manager from 7 years, Alice Nizza, who deals with the orders, the office and much more and the Coperativa Barolo Lavori Agricoli, who provides qualified employees for vineyards works.
The group is meeting with greater approvals in the 26 countries where the wines have been exported.
THE TERRITORY OF LA MURRA
The municipality of La Murra is between 200 and 500 metres high above sea level, the town was born at the beginning of the second millennium, when the city of Alba Pompeia started to turning over the surrounding hills in order to follow pastoralism and giving birth to the village of Murra up the hill (Murra means fenced area for sheep).
By the time the prosperity of the Murra territory is gradually discovered, the quality of the land and the various microclimate gave birth to a florent agricultural reality that transferred an incredibly rich food&wine experience worldwide known for the valuable BAROLO and the TARTUFO BIANCO/WHITE TRUFFLE.
Seven sunburst pattern paths start from the village and link the ring path of the Barolo to the intermunicipal path of the Union of the Barolo countries, and among this path the Marrone company’s vineyards are located, in the Annunziata fraction.
The Langhe mountains are a real paradise for all those demanding tastes, where each product is protected and guaranteed by disciplinaries that defend quality, geniunity and regularity.
The typical products of the area, beside the selected wines, the global-known truffle the extra-precious white with a mix of flavours that principally remind of honey, garlic and the classical porcino mushroom.
Cereals and cheese are no less important products contributing to the gastronomic wealth of the area as well.
